Ha! No one was more surprised than me to see these little babies. Funnily, I never see them sprout; they only ever appear fully formed. So I’m guessing they actually ‘grow’ under the snow. (Which we here in the ‘south’ of the region still have some of… in the shady bits mostly!)
The white stuff not gone entirely (there are still some mounds and large patches) but the rain and mild weather has put a big dent wintry residue, so my shovelling muscles have developed a short memory.
