one sweet morning thing

You know how when you’re walking through the garden…
—so sure you know what’s there that sometimes you don’t see…
—and then you find a bloom you didn’t plant?
Sweet.

    1. I hadn’t thought of that. How true. There’s something about gardens that’s very creatively nourishing/enlightening, moreso even than walking in ‘wilderness’. I think it has to do with the balance required in creating/tending a garden — how much and when to interfere and how much to let grow as it will and see what happens. I have a theory that gardens and writing styles are similar. Mine needs much weeding.
