An excellent workshop with Stuart Ross. Inspired by Joe Brainard’s work, so it was all tapping into the the beautifully simple, which is such a rich source. Sometimes we just try too hard. I’ve been reading ‘I Remember’ and it’s really quite amazing what it conjures up from one’s own past. Details forgotten and so forth. I find lists to be such a powerful form, as a final product or just a brain loosener.
I mentioned the location only because I was surprised to find so much green and yellow in one tiny block. Not even a block. A funky little street near Dupont and Christie. The workshop was in the basement of a co-op housing project that I think went back to the 70’s.
Terrific pix. What was the poetry workshop you were taking and with whom? Also, where is Wychrest Ave?
