How perfect for a day when I can’t get Leonard Cohen (“Bird on a Wire”) out of my mind, nor do I want to, after last night’s beautiful performance. When/where did you see him, by the way? Carin, this photos’s got great lines, making it feel dynamic even though the birds aren’t in flight. And, oh, those clouds — so ominous. It’s striking in black and white.
I took this shot a couple of weeks ago but it fit so well for today, once I realized he was in town. I saw him in Kingston, maybe three years ago. It was meant to be a surprise and indeed I had no idea. Even as we pulled into the parking lot near the venue, there was a neon sign flashing some obscure band’s name… at least that’s what I noticed. If there was a sign for Leonard I missed it. Peter was thrilled the plan was working so well. Then… as we were feeding the parking machine, another couple came up behind us and while waiting to do the same, said, “So, are you here to see Leonard Cohen?”
Fabulous B&W, Carin! Such drama, a sense of prophecy (aka going to get a whole lot colder out there). Love it.
Thanks, Cheryl. Is it true that they warm themselves on the wires?
Dunno …
It’s never Birdless Wednesday.
How do you do it? ;))
Such a punny guy.
Beautiful!
Thank you!

I love birds on a wire. One of my favourite sights, along with seeing them fly off together…
You must like starlings then, yes? I love their dance.
Wow, stunning shot. Lots of birds.
My WW is kitchen remodeling and thick snow. Happy wordless Wednesday!
Thanks! (Couldn’t find your snowy kitchen remodel…)
