What a great study, Carin: the detail and pose of those hands, and what they convey. (My hands wave all over when I speak. I must be part Italian.) The black and white emphasizes the simplicity of the elements and the lines of the podium and mike. Without seeing the speaker’s face, we seem to see it all. Very effective.

Calm confidence. Yes, I see that too, Allison. And a sense of leaning forward, a kind of ‘entre nous’ is what I got. Rather than any kind of speechifying. But then I was there, and I can vouch for the warm vibe…
